doubt的準(zhǔn)確意思是“對(duì).表示疑惑”,在肯定句中常與if或whether搭配使用,意思是“我對(duì)xxxx是否發(fā)生表示疑惑”,“我對(duì)xxxx是對(duì)的還是錯(cuò)的表示疑惑”等等.

　　而用doubt that時(shí),后面要接的是 將要發(fā)生或已經(jīng)發(fā)生的一個(gè)事實(shí),表示我對(duì)這件事的懷疑.而且doubt that通常用在否定句里,表示“恐怕、不會(huì)”的意思.用于肯定句的話,還是doubt if/whether更符合習(xí)慣.

　　I doubt if she will change her mind.意思是我懷疑她是不是真的會(huì)改變想法.

　　I doubt that she will change her mind.意思是我恐怕她不會(huì)改變想法.

　　又例如：

　　I doubt if/whether he will win.我懷疑他能否贏.

　　I don't doubt that he will win.我不懷疑他會(huì)贏.

　　doubt和suspect的意思上差不多.

　　doubt更口語(yǔ)化.

　　suspect更書面化、正規(guī)化,而且一般就直接寫suspect sth,沒(méi)有suspect if/whether這樣的搭配.suspect that 倒是比較常用,比如：

　　I suspect that she told a lie. 我懷疑她說(shuō)謊.

　　作為對(duì)比,I doubt that she told a lie意思是我覺(jué)得她沒(méi)說(shuō)謊,不過(guò)貌似一般比較少這么說(shuō).

　　1 doubt的用法

　　解答： 1，doubt當(dāng)動(dòng)詞時(shí),在<肯定句>中后面可接if或whether。

　　在否定句及疑問(wèn)句中可跟that從句。有時(shí)在<肯定句>中也能跟that從句,但其含義是"恐怕...不會(huì)"。

　　I doubt if (或 whether) he will win.

　　我懷疑他能否贏。

　　I don''t doubt that he will win.

　　我毫不懷疑他會(huì)成功。

　　Do you doubt that he will win?

　　你懷疑他會(huì)成功嗎?

　　I doubt that he will win.

　　恐怕他贏不了。

　　2，doubt of

　　對(duì)...抱懷疑或悲觀態(tài)度。

　　The project began badly and we doubt of its further progress.

　　這項(xiàng)工程開始就不順利,我們懷疑能否繼續(xù)進(jìn)行。

　　3，no doubt后接that從句或介詞of。

　　We have no doubt that you will succeed.

　　We have no doubt of your success.

　　我們毫不懷疑你會(huì)成功。

　　There is (It is 誤) no doubt that you will succeed.

　　毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)你會(huì)成功。
