真正的寧靜雙語美文
There once was a king who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The king looked at all the pictures. But there were only two he really liked, and he had to choose between them.
從前有位國王想要獎勵能將寧靜最好詮釋出來的藝術(shù)家。許多藝術(shù)家都試了。但國王只喜歡其中的兩幅畫，而且須從二者中選出最好的。
One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.
一副畫畫的是一個平靜的湖。靜謐的湖水將周邊的山倒映出來，如同一面完美的鏡子。天空蔚藍，飄動著綿綿的白云。看完后，所有人都覺得這幅畫最真切地表達了寧靜。
The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.
另一副圖畫也有山，但畫中的山崎嶇荒涼?；野档奶炜?，雷雨交加。山的一邊瀑布急瀉而下。一切看起來一點都不寧靜。
But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest — in perfect peace.
但當(dāng)國王仔細一看，他發(fā)現(xiàn)瀑布后的巖石縫里有一叢小小的灌木。一只鳥媽媽在樹叢里搭了一個窩，它就這樣坐在自己的窩里，坐在洶涌的瀑布之后---完全的寧靜!
