A few months ago I was at a bus stop in town in the evening. The bus came on time and I took the window seat. The bus route was by the seashore and I was enjoying the breeze (微風(fēng)) while watching the sea waves. After a few minutes the bus made its next stop. A young boy and a girl got on. They were standing on my left when the bus pulled off. I looked at them curiously and realized that all the window seats were occupied (占據(jù)). They could sit but not together. Suddenly a different wave passed through my body and my inner mind gave me the advice to get up. I got up and offered them my seat. The young lady smiled kindly and said thanks. I occupied another seat and we parted our ways. I don’t remember whether I got off the bus before them or not.Months passed by. Suddenly one day while I was standing at the same bus stop waiting some time for the bus to arrive I heard a voice.
“Excuse me, Uncle.” I looked in the direction of the voice. It was a beautiful young lady.
Puzzled, I said, “I do not know you.”
She said, “Do you remember you gave us your window seat?”
Puzzled, I said, “Maybe, but what is so great in that?”
She said, “If you had not given your seat that day, perhaps I would have not sat with my friend. By sitting together it helped us bridge a misunderstanding that had been between us forever. Do you know we are getting married next month?”
“Good! God bless both of you,” I replied.

This summer I went to Iceland with my family. I had a great time there.
Day 1
Today we walked around the capital of Iceland. Reykjavik is a wonderful city filled with lots of history, shopping and delicious restaurants. There are ruins dating back to the Viking Era down Reykjavik’s oldest main downtown streets. One famous monument of Reykjavik is the large church built in the city center. The church offers a view of the city that is amazing.Day 2
We got on the bus for the Golden Circle tour where we went through the famous Thingvellir National Park, then on to the Golden Waterfall in the highlands and the Geyser (天然熱噴泉). The most amazing part of this tour for me was our trip to the Geyser. There were several active geysers that we were able to stand right near. The geysers went off every ten minutes. The hot water sprayed straight up and you could feel the heat. Hot underground water is one of Iceland’s greatest resources. Iceland has over 170 hot water pools that are open all year round.
Day 3
Today we rode Icelandic horses. The Vikings arrived in Iceland more than 1,000 years ago, bringing with them their small Nordic horses. They are small, gentle, and friendly. Icelandic horses are quite a bit smaller than the horses I have ridden in Montana. I really enjoyed having the chance to ride an Icelandic horse. Doing sightseeing on horseback in Iceland was delightful.

Getting your children to study can be a little like getting them to eat their vegetables.
31 Make a study time and have it at the same time every day. This will help your kids to learn to schedule their day and will give them a sense of control over how they spend their time.
Allow them to study in blocks of time, such as for half an hour with a five-minute break in the middle. 32 Ideal(理想的)study times are after dinner or right after school before dinner.
Never allow your children to study in front of the television, as that will encourage passive activity. 33You’ll also need to help your kids find the right place to study. After you’ve set up a good study time for little learners, set up a good place where they can get those creative juices flowing. 34 Make sure there is a table or a desk and a comfortable chair.
35 This includes helping them out with their homework sometimes and being there for them with the answers to any questions. The input you give your children during study periods will help form a bond and help make studying enjoyable.
A. Keep the atmosphere light and offer lots of encouragement, too.
B. Instead, use TV as a treat or a reward when the homework is completed.
C. Pick a place where your children can study properly.
D. Finally, spend time with your kids when they’re studying.
E. Hold them to the schedule they create for themselves.
F. One of the best ways to form good study habits for your kids is to design a schedule that they keep to.
G. Try to stop this bad habit by offering some sort of reward.
