        Roll the dice

        Charles Bukowski

If you’re going to try, go all the way.

        Otherwise, don’t even start.

If you’re going to try, go all the way.

        This could mean losing girlfriends,

        Wives, relatives, jobs and

        Maybe your mind.

        Go all the way.

It could mean not eating for 3 or 4 days.

It could mean freezing on a park bench.

        It could mean jail,

        It could mean derision,

        It could mean mockery,isolation.

        Isolation is the gift,

All the others are a test of your endurance of

How much you really want to do it.

        And you’ll do it.

Despite rejection and the worst odds.

And it will be better than

        Anything else you can imagine.

        If you’re going to try,

        Go all the way.

There is no other feeling like that.

You will be alone with the gods.

And the night will flame with fire.

        Do it, do it.

        Do it.

        All the way.

        All the way.

You will ride life straight to

        Perfect laughter,

It’s the only good fight there is.

        Love

        ––Roy Croft

        I love you,

Not only for what you are,

        But for what I am

        When I am with you.

        I love you,

        Not only for what

        You have made of yourself,

        But for what

        You are making of me.

        I love you

        For the part of me

        That you bring out;

        I love you

        For putting your hand

        Into my heaped-up heart

        And passing over

        All the foolish, weak things

        That you can’t help

        Dimly seeing there,

        And for drawing out

        Into the light

        All the beautiful belongings

That no one else had looked

        Quite far enough to find.

        I love you because you

        Are helping me to make

Of the lumber of my life

        Not a tavern

        But a temple;

        Out of the works

        Of my every day

        Not a reproach

        But a song

        To make me happy

        I love you

        Because you have done

        More than any creed

        Could have done

        To make me good

        And more than any fate

        To make me happy.

        You have done it

        Without a touch,

        Without a word,

        Without a sign.

        You have done it

        By being yourself.

        By being yourself.

        英語詩歌朗誦技巧

        一、要深入了解詩人和詩詞的撰寫背景

        目前大家看到的這15首詩歌朗誦作品(見文末),并非一蹴而就,而是我在過去兩年多的時間內(nèi)逐步完成的。剛開始發(fā)布讀詩作品的時候,很多網(wǎng)友給出了積極的反饋,并希望我加快更新頻次。殊不知,從選材到錄制,我往往會花一周甚至好幾周的時間,是真正的“慢功夫”。

        二、要讀出英語的節(jié)律

        “詩歌”二字中有個“歌”字,絕非偶然,而是道出了詩詞本身的樂音屬性。從英語詩歌的發(fā)展史上來看,游吟詩人極富音樂性的口頭傳唱是主要的推動力,進(jìn)一步彰顯了“詩歌”這種文學(xué)形式對聲音和意義緊密結(jié)合的訴求。要想體現(xiàn)出詩歌的意境與樂音,可以從如下三點(diǎn)來努力。

        三、結(jié)語

        讀詩不是炫技,而是表露心聲。通過朗誦富于音樂性的英語詩歌,可以增強(qiáng)朗讀者對英語語言的敏感度和審美能力,加深英語文化體驗(yàn),最終達(dá)成聲音與意義的有機(jī)融合——以情定聲、以聲傳情。
