　　1. Wits

　　指的是思考的能力和智慧，我們可以用它表示有能力做成某件事。

　　例：She's got the wits to make it work.

　　她有能力讓它恢復(fù)正常。

　　2. Diamonds in the rough

　　未經(jīng)雕琢的鉆石只差好好打磨就能bling bling啦!歸根到底，說明人家還是塊材料啊!

　　例：She may seem shy and ordinary right now, but give her a couple more years - she truly is a diamond in the rough.

　　雖然她現(xiàn)在看著害羞，人也一般般，但過幾年也會是個可造之材。

　　3. Have the makings of something

　　英文里making指的是完成某件事需具備的要素，也指人的素質(zhì)。這個短語用在人身上時，就是指某人具備成就某件事的素質(zhì)。

　　例：He has the makings of a first-rate lawyer.

　　他具備了成為一流律師的素質(zhì)。

　　4. Promising

　　有希望，有前途，英文里用promising來表示。當(dāng)你看好誰的時候，就可以將這個詞派上用場了。

　　例：He was voted the most promising new actor for his part in the movie.

　　憑借這部電影中的角色，他當(dāng)選為最具潛力男演員。

　　5. Room for improvement

　　雖然有不足，但實際上還有提高的空間，不難看出希望還是有的，只是需要改進而已。

　　例：There's still room for improvement in his cooking.

　　他的廚藝還能改進。
