The plans below show the layout of a university's sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
不會表達的信息:這塊區(qū)域,叫做 the sports centre building 或者 the main building
gym 沿著 sports center 的北邊,stretch along the north side, gym 擴張的方向是向東
The upper map shows the plan of a university sports centre as it is now and the lower map shows the same building once it has been redeveloped.
Overall, the existing 25-metre pool and surrounding facilities will remain largely unchanged. However, the building will be substantially expanded by means of the addition of a leisure pool and a range of other new facilities.
Currently, the sports centre building consists only of a 25m pool, related swimming facilities and a gym that stretches along the north side. While the planned new sports centre will occupy around twice the current floorspace, these facilities will remain unchanged except that the gym will be significantly extended to the east.
Either side of the building at present, there are outdoor courts which will make way for a new leisure pool to the west of the main building, and a sports hall and two dance studios to the east. To the south of the 25m pool, the current reception area will be enlarged to accommodate a sports shop and café, on the west and east sides respectively. Finally, new changing rooms will be built in the south-west and south-east corners.
floor space
floor space, or floorspace is the area (measured as square feet or square metres) taken up by a building or part of it 占地面積
The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart illustrates how the proportions of households that lived in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales changed from 1918 to 2011.
Before 1971, more households lived in rented accommodation than in owned accommodation. The biggest gap was in 1918, when 77% households rented. The same proportions (68%) of households lived in owned accommodation in 1939 and 1953. In 1961, there were as many as 40% of households in owned accommodation. Finally, the year 1971 witnessed equal proportions of households that lived in both types of accommodation.
On the other hand, there were more households that lived in owned accommodation than in rented accommodation after 1971. In 1991 and 2001, households in owned accommodation more than doubled those in rented accommodation. The difference was less prominent in 1981 and 2001, when about 60% of households lived in owned accommodation.
It is clear that, while there was an increase in the percentage of households in owned accommodation in these two nations, fewer and fewer households rented.
