        雅思大作文范文:科技發(fā)展與其問題

We sure live differently from our parents diddecades ago. The changes are wide and profound. At the same time, we are facing challenges andproblems unknown in the past. Could we findsolutions to problems created by scientific development? The answer seems to be no.

Some of the most obvious problems caused by technological advances lie in the ITindustry. At a time when we did not have computers and electronic bank services, people tookmoney with them and paid by cash. If they were stolen, only the amount they had with themwas lost. But now credit cards are more commonly used in shopping malls and other places, crimes again us have become more serious and caused greater losses to people. A thief maytape the code of your credit card and make a copy of it. Then he could safely withdraw allyour money from an ATM machine. Crimes such as this are very sticky to solve because thereis no witness and the surveillance cameras give little help to the police.

Another example is the issue of information control with the media industry including TVnetworks and Internet that give easy access to information without discrimination to people'sage. This has created a huge problem for parents and schools because teenage people areparticularly vulnerable to adult materials and information violent in nature. In the past, whenmost information came in the form of print, it was relatively easy to control what children read. When a parent put away a book unsuitable for children, they were cut off from the source ofinformation. With computer parents could use software to filter bad web sites but could notprevent new ones from appearing every day.

People are working very hard to solve such problems that come along with advances inscience and technology, but the efforts are not sufficient and not very successful. Even withthe little progress we have achieved, we find ourselves defeated by new problems with greatercomplexity and in wider scope.

In conclusion, developments in many fields of our life have brought us both benefits andproblems. Developments in the banking industry give us greater convenience but making ustargets of computer-based theft. Changes in media industry expose young people toinappropriate information difficult for parent's control. However up until now, we have notsuccessfully found permanent solutions yet.

        雅思大作文題目:

The computer are widely used in education andsome people think teacher are not play importantrole in the classroom.

To what extend do you agree?(agree/disagree)

        雅思大作文范文:

Nowadays, the computer is rapidly growing in itspopularity in education for its marvelous functions.however, the problem has become one of whetherteachers or computers enjoy a vital role ineducation, which has aroused wide concern in public.yet i am, and probably always will be amazed when ihear people saying that teachers are no longerimportant in education with the advent of computers. deep down, i guess this might be aplausible hypothesis were it not for the following points.

On a substantive level, it is often the case that teachers can benefit students in manyways that computers cannot. indeed teachers often bring students a host of knowledge andideas out of text books, such as ethics, issues in human behavior and such kind of things.even if there were no hard evidence to support the point that teachers are usually serving asthe guide for students, a role which can never be performed by computers, there are plenty ofvivid examples that support it. when i was studying in the high school, one of my teachershelped me with my study and taught me how to deal with difficulties in my life as well. so thesebenefits are impossible to be gained from computers.

In addition, a more subtle point can be made is that young students are moresusceptible to the adverse influence of computers. it is a general principle that juvenilesusually lack in the sense of judgment to tell right from wrong. so they may be more likely to bedistracted from study by the lure that comes along with computers. therefore, teachers aresuperior to computers in cultivating students.

Although it is all very well to suggest that teachers invariably enjoy the most critical rolein fostering young people, let us not lose sight of the dramatic merits brought on bycomputers. and computers do open the frontiers of the development of education.

Nevertheless, i am still inclined to take sides with the opinion that teachers can never giveway to computers. as is so often pointed out, the significant thing is to make computersfacilitate teachers'job.

        雅思大作文范文:電腦是否該取代公共圖書館

While this statement is true for most of dot.comgenerations as they are easy to find relevant webarticles, they do need the knowledge for goofing(internet surfing) to be able to search theinformation in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. However, imagine that one neither have computerskill nor IT knowledge, this statement may be tooharsh for them.

The main purpose for a public library is not only borrowing books but also to serve thecommunity’s needs, such as, book club, read hard copy of magazines and newspapers, senior’s getting together. This benefit provides by the public libraries in our society should notbe underestimated.

The computer technology has no doubt at all replaced most of function, that is, we canread books from the academic database; newspapers and publishes from almost everywhere, this means that we do not need many hard copies and environment friendly for the earth. However I am not so much convinced that public libraries can replace other functions that weneed other than providing information or books.

The important issue we need to recognize is that there are not many population who canuse computer to serve their needs, and even may not afford to own a computer. Some of themare using the public libraries for reading the large print books; others are coming to relax forreading magazines with friends; and the others may just come for a cool spot in a hot summer.

Governments in the world are trying to improve nations’ lifestyle in every aspects, in thiscase, how can it be satisfactory to say that take away a public library by replacing a computer isimproving our quality life.
