Should the one-child policy be abolished?
From 1980, one-child policy has been a momentous part of the family planning policy and played a certain role in controlling the rapid growth of population. But this policy is obviously of great disadvantages.
First of all, China is entering the aging society and couples, both of whom are the only child, have to support four old. Supporting the old has become a prominent problem of family and society. One couple, both of whom are PhD, wants to make some achievements in their jobs after graduation. However, they have to support three aged parents, two of whom are in hospital. They even have no time and energy to bring up their own children. They are eager to have brothers and sisters, with whom they will be able to share these responsibilities.
Secondly, gender imbalance is serious. Men, five or six in ten, cannot find wives. Because of one-child policy, some couples go to the hospital to check the fetus’s gender and will have an abortion if it is a female fetus. Thirdly, the only child is prone to having a lot of
problems. Since they are born, many only children have been doted on by numerous people, ending up with having some bad habits, such as being afraid of hardships and coveting enjoyment. Furthermore, quite a few only children are eccentric and arrogant, which is not conducive to the development of interpersonal skills. In addition, if the only child is ill or injured, his parents will be enormously worried. Even worse, if the only children died and his parents have passed childbearing age, the parents will spend the rest of their lives in suffering and solitude.
Given China’s current status of economy and society, if the one-child policy were kept on, the stability of family would be badly shaken and the development of economy and society would be greatly impeded. Therefore, the nation should not continue to adhere to the one-child policy.
Chinais the largest population country in the world, which increase the difficulty to develop china well. Consider Chinese development in the long term, some people point out that it is necessary for Chinese to carry out one child policy. However, there are opposite voice. They think one child policy is not good for children’s healthy grow up. I agree with the latter opinion. The reasons are as follows.
First of all, one child policy will make children feel lonely. One child policy means every couple just has one child. The child has no sisters or brothers to play with him. As time passes, they will feel lonely. We all know that there is not everything children want to tell their parents. Growing up with no brother or sister, the child may easy to get mental problem, such as, autism. In addition, as every parent just has one child, they will spoil their child double times. As a result, the child will the so called little emperor or little princess. When the child grows up, it is possible that he couldn’t adjust the world, the society, because no one will treat them as little emperor or little princess except their parents.
To sum up, one child policy maybe can solve the population problem in some extend, but it is not good for the long term development for china. Because it is not good for the young generation’s healthy growing up for the reasons mention above.
In order to control the national population, the one-child policy has been carried out for a long time in Chia. It is undeniable that it has achieved good effects. However, it brings some social problem. For example, it makes aging population more serious. In one word, like a double-edged sword, this policy has inevitably triggered several problems for children and parents, as well as the whole society. Therefore, I think it's time for China to cancel this policy gradually.
Firstly, China's population has been controlled after years of implementation of the policy. And most people have realized the importance of birth control for a better life. On the control, the birth control policy make the proportion of aging people rise at an unstoppable rate. Therefore, it is time to cancel birth control policy to remit aging of population. Secondly, the one-child policy has revealed lots of disadvantages. Growing up with no brother or sister, the child feels lonely and isolated, not knowing how to communicate with others. Moreover, the only child in the familiy is likely to be spoiled by too much devoted love from their parents and grandparents. Therefore, they may be selfish, capricious and disobliging in their daily life.
In brief, we can conclude that the one-child policy is inappropriate to modern China's situation, and it has already had many negative effects on the children's growth. So it's really the high time for us to take a second look at the policy.
Years ago, china starts to have one-child policy. It has got a good effect since its execution. But recently, there is another voice to deny one-child policy. What do you think? Different people have different opinions. In my opinion, I don’t think one-child policy should exist forever. My reasons are as following.
In the first place, one-child policy puts into effect for a long time will negative effect on China general level. China’s population has been brought under control after years of implementation of the policy. And most people have realized the importance of birth control for a better life. But the birth rate will become lower and lower. With the development of the society, people have different concepts. The dink is a classic example. They have the ability to rise but do not have the plan to have one. In the long term, China will have less and less population in the future. If there are no people, how can it be strong?
Secondly, one-child-policy also has negative influence for the children themselves. As the only one child in a family, the child will have no brothers or sisters to grow up together, even friends will become less. They may easy feel lonely and isolate. And they may not know how to care and get around well with others with the spoiling of their parents. All these are not good for the growth of the children.
In conclusion, one-child policy should not be carried out forever. It will bring unimaginable negative influence for people.
