Do you want to say goodbye to bad habits? This following steps may help you a lot.
36 Make a note every time you are driven by bad habits. Write down the time and where you are, as well as how you’re feeling. Are you bored, angry, sad? The more you understand the why behind your habit, the more control you’ll have over it.
37 Do you see any patterns in your journal? Do you always bite your nails before a test? Are you more likely to eat junk food, like chips or candy, when you’re doing your homework? If you notice a pattern to your habit, start thinking about ways you can change the pattern. For example, if you bite your nails when you’re stressed, try to find other ways to calm yourself, like taking slow, deep breaths.
Replace your bad habit with a good one. Instead of biting your nails or twirling your hair, keep your fingers busy sketching or knitting. If gossip is your problem, challenge yourself to say nice things about people. You can replace your new activity with your old one each time. 38
Stay focused. 39 “I will stop biting my nails.” Or “I will stop texting so much.” Make a list of the days of the week, and place a gold star next to each day that you aren’t driven by your habit. Before you know it, you’ll have a whole page of gold stars!
Keep at it. Maybe you’ve heard the expression “Old habits die hard.” Well, it’s true! 40 So if you mess up one day, don’t beat yourself up over it--but don’t give up, either! Finally, you’ll succeed.
Remember, if you put your mind of it, you can do anything--even break that bad, bad habit!
A. Try to find ways to get rid of the bad habits.
B. Write down a promise to yourself:
C. Pay attention to when your bad habit appears suddenly.
D. Keep a journal for a day or two.
E. Old habits can never be removed.
F. This way you’ll be one step closer to breaking that bad habit.
G. It usually takes three weeks to month to break a bad habit.

One possible version
Dear classmates,
More and more students are riding electric bikes or motorbikes to school, which brings high security risks. Therefore, I’m writing this letter to call on students to pay attention to safe travel.
To begin with, the ways of travelling should be taken into consideration. Going to school on foot, by bike, or by bus, is much safer than riding electric bikes. Secondly, we should observe the traffic rules and follow what the traffic signals tell us to do. For example, we must go on sidewalks when walking. In no case can we run a red light and overspeed driving is not a clever way, either. What’s more, we can tell our relatives and friends not to drive after drinking alcohol. Only when each of us raises our awareness about safety travel can we reduce security risks and travel safely.Yours,
Li Hua
