A：I don't understand why some parents keep beefing and complaining about their daughters not being able to follow suit.
A: 我真搞不明白為什么一些父母總是不停地發(fā)牢騷，抱怨他們的女兒們不學他們的樣。
B: Yeah. Li Na's mother has been building a fire under her since her neighbor's daughter got married with a Canadian. She's almost driving Li Na crazy.
B：是啊，自從李娜鄰居的女兒嫁給了一個加拿大人，她媽媽就不停地對她緊催慢趕。她都快把李娜逼瘋了。
A: If I were Li Na, I would ask her if she had done that.
A：如果我是李娜，她媽媽再那樣做，就質(zhì)問她媽媽。
B: She is as meek as a lamb. She never goes against anyone or anything. She's as good as gold, you know?
B：她像羊羔一樣溫順，從不反抗。你知道嗎，她很乖。

B: She is now in a private school.
B：一家私立學校。
A: Oh, it costs too much. It's more expensive thanthe public school.

B: It's the idea of my husband. He is always bangingthe drum for better schools.
B：這是我丈夫的主意。他老是一味鼓吹好學校，好教育。
A: But the private schools don't amount to better schools.
A: 可私立學校并不等于就是好學校。
