My determination to study engineering comes from my desire to seek a challenge. In life, there seems to be no bigger challenge than to learn and find out how things work. In our modern world, engineering plays a big role in the foundations of technology and knowledge and this is what I am interested in.
As my year 12 progressed, my interest in science and Maths, particularly Physics developed. Studying Physics at Advanced level allows me to think about how things move and react to forces and how these properties can be used in solving both practical and theoretical situations. Maths interests me as it develops my problem solving skills, allowing me to apply familiar concepts to unfamiliar situations. My enthusiasm towards these subjects encouraged me to take up AS Further Maths. In doing so, I hope to expand my knowledge to achieve a level of understanding satisfactory to a potential degree level student. In addition to Physics and Maths, I am also studying Biology which provides me with the opportunity to develop my practical skills as I am required to work within groups. My communication skills have been put to the test during these lessons and I have proved many times that I am a team player.
After much research, I decided to attend taster courses at City University and Queen Mary University of London to experience what engineering involves. These informative taster courses offered me a unique chance to understand and to observe different areas of engineering which subsequently led me to the decision to pursue mechanical engineering. Its ability to allow me to see how things work fascinates me and furthermore, as mechanical engineering is a diverse field, it will allow me to learn and use many skills which can be transferred onto many employment opportunities.
Although I have enjoyed the challenge that my school-based work has given me, I have always sought to extend my knowledge. Recently, I built a computer. I discovered how each component is connected and how one energy source is converted into another. This has allowed me to apply the theory I learn within the curriculum to real situations. Furthermore, I was able to see how the components fit together by taking apart unwanted pieces from my old computer.
I have always been willing to give my time to take part in activities such as volunteering. I once raised money for the Marie Curie foundation. During this period, I improved my communication skills and confidence as I met and talked to many members of the community. I found that this experience was rewarding and fulfilling. I am a trusted member of my year group and when asked to be an ambassador for my sixth form, I accepted. This experience allowed me to demonstrate my organisation and communicational skills as I was required to confidently guide and talk to many potential students to the college. In addition, throughout my academic career, I have played an active role in a variety of different extracurricular activities. I am an adept musician and passed my grade 4 examinations in flute. Although I have decided to discontinue the examinations, every year during events such as Chinese New Year, I play the flute for my local Chinese community.
I believe that success as an engineer in a modern society requires a combination of management, communication and business skills. Therefore, with my previous experiences, focused attitude and will for success, I have the ability and motivation to meet the demands of studying at degree level. The prospect of studying engineering excites me, and I feel confident that I will make contributions to university life.

碩士研究生申請時年齡不超過30歲，具有學(xué)士學(xué)位或優(yōu)秀本科畢業(yè)生，身體健康，表現(xiàn)良好。
訪問學(xué)者(含博士后研究)申請時年齡不超過50歲，應(yīng)為高等學(xué)校、企事業(yè)單位、各級行政單位、科研單位的正式工作人員。 高級研究學(xué)者申請時年齡不超過55歲，除應(yīng)符合訪問學(xué)者的申請條件外，還需具備以下條件之一： ①國家重點實驗室、教育部重點實驗室、國家工程(技術(shù))研究中心骨干; ②“長江學(xué)者”特聘教授或教育部當(dāng)年確定支持的創(chuàng)新團隊中的骨干或“新世紀(jì)優(yōu)秀人才計劃”入選者及其他人才計劃入選者; ③教育部批準(zhǔn)的國家重點學(xué)科學(xué)術(shù)帶頭人; ④中央國家機關(guān)、地方行政管理部門、國有大中型企業(yè)高級行政管理人員。 其中教學(xué)科研人員應(yīng)為教授、博士生導(dǎo)師;中央國家機關(guān)、地方行政管理部門管理人員應(yīng)具有副司局級(包括副司局級)以上行政職務(wù);國有大中型企業(yè)管理人員應(yīng)具有相當(dāng)于副司局級(包括副司局級)以上行政職務(wù)。
國家公派留學(xué)人員獎學(xué)金資助內(nèi)容
資助內(nèi)容主要包括一次國際往返旅費及獎學(xué)金生活費，其中獎學(xué)金生活費是指國家公派留學(xué)人員在國外學(xué)習(xí)期間的基本生活費用，
包括：伙食費、住宿費、交通費、話費、書籍資料費、醫(yī)療保險費、交際費、一次性安置費、零用費等。具體資助標(biāo)準(zhǔn)按教育部、財政部有關(guān)規(guī)定執(zhí)行。
此外，對少數(shù)赴國外一流高校，一流專業(yè)攻讀博士學(xué)位人員，如其學(xué)科專業(yè)確為國家急需、且難以獲得外方學(xué)費資助，特別是人文及應(yīng)用社會科學(xué)專業(yè)，可提供學(xué)費資助。
當(dāng)然與自費留學(xué)相比公派出國留學(xué)的條件會很多，且名額有限，所以一般有條件的學(xué)生都會選擇自費留學(xué)。看過上述條件后，覺得滿足要求的學(xué)生可以嘗試申請公派留學(xué)，可以極大的減少出國留學(xué)的經(jīng)濟壓力。
