      04Unit2 詞匯精講

      1. put on

      put on在本課中意為“增加(體重);發(fā)胖”。例如:

      I can eat what I want but I never put on weight.

      【拓展】put on的其他用法:

      (1) 意為“穿上;戴上”。例如:

      It’s much too cold outside. You should put on your coat.

      (2) 意為“上演;舉辦”。例如:

      2. wish/hope

      (1) 相同點:表示“想;希望”,賓語可為to do,不能用doing。例如:

      (2) 不同點:wish后可以跟復合賓語,即wish sb. to do sth.,而hope不能。例如:

      I wish you to go. (正) 我希望你去。

      3. miss

      miss為動詞,意為“想念,思念”。例如:

      (1) miss作動詞還有“未擊中,未抓住”的意思。例如:

      I tried to hit the ball but I missed.

      She’s very intelligent. However, she’s quite lazy.

      她非常聰明,但是她很懶惰。

      (1) however是副詞,意為“不過;然而”,表轉折時,與后面的句子用逗號隔開,不能與but連用。例如:

      My room is small. However, it’s comfortable.

      5. dress up
